Indoor Activity For Kids:

Cardboard rolls flower printing

I always have paint and cardboard rolls in the house so this is a nice and simple activity to do with kids. You can make different cuts in the roll and have different designs.

This activity is inspired by ideas from Cardboard rolls flower printing.

This activity is great to teach your kids:

Fine motor skills involve movement of the smaller muscle groups in your child's hands, fingers, and wrists.

Developing fine motor skills will help your child to write and prepares her for school. But it will also help your children with everyday tasks like eating, and dressing themselves.

Colour recognition activities helps children get to know the different colors and color blending and matching.

Sensory play is play that involves all the senses - taste, sound, sight, touch and smell. Sensory play is very beneficial to children. Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain’s pathways, which lead to the child’s ability to complete more complex learning tasks. Sensory play is also very relaxing and rejuvenating to children.

Step 1

Gather all the supplies

Step 2

Cut the cardboard rolls into the desired pattern

Step 3

Add some paint to a plate

Step 4

Show your kids how to make designs with the paint and cardboard rolls

My daughter and I did this activity together with another activity - painting with cotton balls. She liked the cotton balls painting better but I had fun with the flower printing. I will try this activity with my oldest and see if he likes it.

You can use toilet rolls to make any kind of stamp for painting. You can bend them into almost any shape you want, from hearts for valentine’s Day or Bunny Stamps for Easter.
