Indoor Activity For Kids:

Popsicle sticks posting

This activity is simple but it can keep kids busy for a while. My kids love posting so this activity is great for kids who like posting. If you don’t have a bottle or to mix it up, they can also post into egg cartons with slids cut in.

This activity is inspired by ideas from Popsicle sticks posting.

This activity is great to teach your kids:

Hand eye coordination activities help kids use their hands (and muscles) and eyes at the same time. When the two work together, young children begin to increase their ability to pick up, grasp, and manipulate objects.

Fine motor skills involve movement of the smaller muscle groups in your child's hands, fingers, and wrists.

Developing fine motor skills will help your child to write and prepares her for school. But it will also help your children with everyday tasks like eating, and dressing themselves.

Step 1

Gather all the supplies

Step 2

Cut a slit in the lid of the bottle

Step 3

Tape the bottle to the play surface

Step 4

Show your kids how to post the sticks in the bottle

My toddler daughter especially enjoyed posting the Popsicle sticks into a container but then my preschooler son also joined in. I could only find one bottle to cut a slit in so they practiced turn taking and sharing. It is such a fun and easy activity and one well do again. Next time I will try an egg carton and see if they can post into it.

This craft stick fine motor skills activity for babies and toddlers is a fun way for them to practice fine motor hand eye coordination.
