Activity For Kids:

Paint the cars

This kids activity uses things we have in the house, and the kids clean the mess up themselves by washing the cars after painting them (bonus!).

You can of course use any hard toy for painting if you like.

This activity is inspired by ideas from Paint the cars.

This activity is great to teach your kids:

Fine motor skills involve movement of the smaller muscle groups in your child's hands, fingers, and wrists.

Developing fine motor skills will help your child to write and prepares her for school. But it will also help your children with everyday tasks like eating, and dressing themselves.

Creative activities help children express themselves and create something from nothing, explore materials and activities and use their imagination.

Colour recognition activities helps children get to know the different colors and color blending and matching.

Sensory play is play that involves all the senses - taste, sound, sight, touch and smell. Sensory play is very beneficial to children. Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain’s pathways, which lead to the child’s ability to complete more complex learning tasks. Sensory play is also very relaxing and rejuvenating to children.

Step 1

Line a plastic bin with baking or other paper

Step 2

Add paint blobs and cars to the bin

Step 3

Fill another smaller bin with soapy water for washing

Step 4

Invite your kids to play by painting and washing the cars

I thought for sure this kids activity would be a hit with my kids but it only got a bit of attention.

But it's such a fun activity, I will definitely try it again, and also do it at playcentre. I couldn't find our paint brushes so I used cotton buds and q-tips.

The obsession with painting toys is real. And why shouldn’t it be? Painting toys is an awesome “make it to nap time activity” and an even better “how are we going to get from naps to dinner?” activity.
